Join our local Sámi guides for an immersive Arctic evening that blends cultural storytelling, traditional experiences, and the chance to witness the Northern Lights.
 
Your journey begins in Tromsø, where you’ll meet your guide and travel to a peaceful reindeer camp just outside the city. As you leave the urban lights behind, the Arctic landscape opens up — quiet, vast, and ideal for experiencing both culture and nature.

Arrival at the Camp

Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed into a traditional setting where reindeer roam freely around the camp. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with them, feed them, and experience a key part of Sámi life.
 

This moment sets the tone — calm, authentic, and deeply connected to the Arctic environment.

 
Traditional Evening Experience

Inside a warm, candlelit lavvu (traditional Sámi tent), you’ll gather around the fire and enjoy a freshly prepared meal inspired by local traditions.
 

Your guide will share stories about Sámi culture, history, and life in the Arctic. You may also experience a traditional joik performance, a unique form of Sámi storytelling through music.

Aurora Viewing

After the cultural experience, you’ll step outside into the Arctic night. Away from city lights, this location offers excellent conditions for viewing the Northern Lights.
 

If the skies are clear, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the aurora dancing above the landscape — a truly unforgettable moment.

• Meet in Tromsø city center

• Scenic transfer to reindeer camp (approx. 25–30 minutes)

• Arrival and welcome introduction

• Reindeer interaction & feeding

• Traditional Sámi dinner inside lavvu

• Cultural storytelling & joik performance

• Outdoor Northern Lights viewing

• Return to Tromsø
